King (Ken) Lau

is a freelance wedding and event photographer based out of Chicago. He enjoys all types of photography but capturing images of people and helping share their stories is what he loves the most.  He is a strong believer in giving back to the community and volunteers his time and skill with Meals on Wheels Chicago, City Year, and Help Portrait.  

"I recently found an old cigar box among a number of keepsakes I had in storage.   Inside were pictures of my parents, aunts, uncles, and other family members taken between 1955 and 1980.  It turns out both my mother and my father were quite the photographers in their youth.  I held these pictures in my hand and they invoked such a strong connection to my family and I found myself wondering what my parents were like when they were young.  

Each day that I get to take pictures of people is another connection I get make.  I get to be a part of their story and be the scribe that chronicles that  visual story for generations to come.   Lucky me."
